The case involving four prison officers could not proceed
yesterday at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Taiwo
Ade Alagbe.
The officers are Abdoulie Bojang, Solo Manga, Bakary Jammeh and Buba Badjie, who were charged with conspiracy to bring prohibited article into the prison.
When the case was called, state counsel Mam Jobe applied to the court for an adjournment on the grounds that they could not lay hands on the exhibit they intended to tender.
She said the exhibit was in a safe and the padlock was stiff, and could not be opened.
Defence counsel Kombeh Gaye-Coker objected to the application but later withdrew her objection.
The case was then adjourned till 2 October 2012.
