Mariama Njie, the proprietress and founder of President Jammeh Football Academy in Lamin village in Kombo North district of the West Coast Region, has expressed her readiness in promoting and nurturing young talented players in Lamin and its satellite areas. Njie made this remarks in an interview with Pointsports yesterday.
Njie said that the academy was established three months back with the aim and objective of promoting and nurturing young talents in Lamin and its environs, adding that the academy enrolls both male and female categories ranging from U-7, U-10 and U-13 respectively.
According to Njie, the academy enrolled 35 males and 20 females, and that registration is open to players in Lamin and its environs, noting that players have been doing extremely well.
The girl who loves football, as she is widely known, applauded Gamtel coach Tapha Manneh and the Serrekunda East Sports Development Organization for patronizing her academy, and she seized the opportunity to call on the private sector, donors, philanthropists , companies and individuals to come to her academy’s aid.
Njie also commended GFA media officer Bakary B. Baldeh, Peter Gomez, Moses Ndene and all those who contributed towards the development of her academy.
We need finance to purchase balls, cones and materials but due to limited resources we are unable to buy those materials and am seeking for support from all and sundry to patronize us, Njie announced.
