Detective ASP Lamin Cham, who earlier gave evidence in the murder case involving one Awa Sanyang, was recently cross-examined at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.
Under cross-examination, ASP Cham told the court that the suspect and the deceased lived in the same compound, but in different rooms, and there was a tenant living in the compound.
The suspect was occupying the 1st room of the house where the incident took place, and they shared the same palour, ASP Cham said, adding that the twins of the deceased, Awa Sanyang, used to sleep with the suspect, while the last child of the deceased was sleeping with the deceased.
The husband of the deceased was not around when the said incident took place, he said.
Designated as the second prosecution witness (PW2), ASP Cham disclosed that the husband of the deceased later came, adding that the incident happened at night in his absence.
He added that after the incident the accused took the children to Bakoteh to the family and went to report the matter at the station.
