Goals in either half have added another boost in the Darling Scorpions campaign in the Algeria tournament by going unbeaten in three matches and clinching top spot. The Scorpions who are indeed challenging for the ultimate crown, made their presence felt in the 2009 session without conceding a goal in the group stages and recording a perfect finish in the group matches.
The Baby Scorpions took the lead in the 28th minute courtesy of an own goal by an Algeria defender in an attempt to send the ball out of danger.
Gambian striker, Ebou Bojang, came from behind to register his second so far in the tournament, by increasing the lead barely two minutes from regulation time to seal a 2-0 victory over the Algerian hosts.
The Gambia, who are with nine points and seconded by Algeria with six, will know their opponents between semi-finalists Burkina Faso and Niger who will square up today in the final group B match.
Guinea drew 0-0 with Cameroon to end a lack-lustre performance in this year's campaign. Both sides have fallen casualty in the tournament after only managing to register a single point, and not able to make it past the group stages of the tournament.
