Pa Mboob Playing His Part

Apr 11, 2008, 5:36 AM

Pa Mboob, a long time Gambian artist, is trying tooth and nail to demystify the myth that Gambians are never-doers when it comes to music.

Having started his music career in the late 70's performing with various bands, Pa Mboob is now showing his skills and commitment at Queen's Head in Kololi in a programme called African Night. The event, according to Pa Mboob, has that distinctive African touch and is serving as a platform for exhibition and nurturing of raw talents.

His music is laden with meaning and tackles issues such as politics and politicians, love, environment and the ills of society.

Meanwhile Queen's Head, which has just gone under new management, have come up with a plethora of mouth-watering programmes such as the Monday Talk show, Thursday karaoke night, Big Friday Traditional Music, Saturday's Jump with DJ Ludo & MC Principal from 4-8pm followed by Saturday Fever with DJ Spraga AKA Solid of Simplicity. On Sunday, there is a Family Matinee Film show on the menu with the gate free to the greater public.
