Makhouredia Gueye Passes Away

It was virtually all the Senegambian cultural actors and particularly the cinema and the drama personalities who have been mourning a charismatic figure of the Senegalese theatre.

Mamadou Gueye commonly known as Makhouredia Gueye sadly passed away this past Sunday at the Hospital General of Grand Yoff in Dakar at the age of 84 years.
With more than 50 years in the cinema and the Senegalese theatrical scenes, Makhouredia Gueye acted his most famous feuilletons on the national television with the troupe Daraay Kocc and also his successful telly films with his friend Omar Ba known as Bay Peulh in the 80's. With Sembene Ousmane, he acted le mandat in1968, Xala in 1974 and Cedo in 1976. He also played a role in Hyenaof Djibrile Diop Mame Bety.
Makhouredia Gueye was also a talented artist, saxophonist and trumpeter.
His death is deeply mourned and will undoubtedly have a real impact on the Senegambian cultural movement. The public are deeply regretting the loss of a comedian in all his noblesse and dignity as a social regulator.

Makhouredia used to tell his relatives: 'I'm in this world to accompany you and I give you my person and when God's last will comes,accompany me to Touba'.

Touba the same day with the prayers of
