The GFA Normalisation Committee has announced that Mr Oreme Joiner, commonly know as Remi, is Scorpions head of delegation to Ivory Coast.
Mr. Joiner, an executive member of the GFA Normalisation Committee and head of its finance committee, would be responsible for the general coordination of the team as well as facilitating its preparations in Ivory Coast at the World Cup Qualifier against the Elephants scheduled for Saturday 23 March 2013.
Remi Joiner is the General Manager of Trust Bank Limited and his name is synonymous with sport, having started at an early age as a sports presenter and football commentator over Radio Gambia, under the tutelage of Saul Njie and Bora Mboge.
Remi played basketball for Saints Basketball Club and the Banjul Central Basketball Zonal Team.
He is among the founders of The Gough Foundation and is a member of various sporting committees, including the recent GFA Normalisation Committee set up by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and approved by FIFA.
Meanwhile, the Scorpions arrived safely in Niger on Sunday 17 March and are in preparatory mood ahead of their crunch tie against Ivory Coast in Abidjan.
