Old Hands FC Suffers Another Upset

Old Hands FC on Monday 17th August 2009 suffer another defeat in the hands of Veterans FC 2-1 in the ongoing Old Jeshwang Nawettan proper, at the Old Jeshwang Lower Basic School field. Old Hands FC opened the game with high spirits creating some goal attempts, but failed to capitalise on any of them. But later in the 11th minute of play, Veterans FC started gaining most of the ball possession and they too also created wonderful chances, but couldn't penetrate their opponents' defence until in 19th minute of the game when Veterans FC striker opened the scoring to his side lead. But due to this goal Old Hands FC quickly reacted by creating goal opportunities, but they were denied by the Veterans FC concrete defence.

In the 27th minute of the game, Veterans FC powerful midfielder Yahya Faye scored a brilliant goal from a rebound, which saw his side 2-0 ahead of their opponents and Old Hands FC Morro Ceesay was cautioned in the 34th minute of play, after a harsh challenge on one of the players of Veterans FC. The first half of the game ended 2-0.

In the early opening of the second half, Old Hands FC began to come back in the game launching powerful assaults on their opponents, and later in the 59th minute of the game Old Hands FC's ace Babou Drammeh managed to score to give his side hope for levelling the scores.

But later Veterans FC's Yahya Faye became a very big threat to his opponents, delivering excellent passes and putting a lot of pressures on the defence line of Old Hands FC, with his incredible skills. At the end of the game, it was 2-1 in favour of Veterans FC.
