The Executive Committee of The Gambia Football Association (GFA) regrets to announce the death of Mr Badou Jasseh.
This sad event occurred early morning of May 27, 2011 in his residence after a short illness.
This sad news is extended to H.E. Sheikh Professor Alhagie Dr Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, Chief Patron of The GFA, and the entire Cabinet, Hon. Sheriff Gomez and Staff of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gambia National Sports Council, Gambia National Olympic Committee, Gambia Athletics Association, the Gambia Football Coaches' Association, Honorary President of the GFA Alhagie Ousman B. Conateh, Honorary Vice President of GFA Salifu K. Jaiteh, presidents and secretaries of all league clubs and zones and the entire football family in The Gambia.
Uncle Badou (as he was fondly called) was a FIFA registered referee and a CAF Instructor in Refereeing. He was also the Chairman of The Gambia Football Referees' Committee and a dedicated servant to football. Mr Jasseh dedicated his entire life to the promotion and development of refereeing globally. He was buried on the same day. May the Almighty Allah bless his Soul – Ameen!
