In a media release sent to Pointsports, the NSC said: “It is very heartening to know that each of the Gambian athletes won at least a medal culminating in ten gold medals, four silver medals, six bronze medals and in total twenty medals for the championship.
As a result, the board and staff of the National Sports Council wish to congratulate the entire Gambian delegation that took part in this important championship for the splendid and groundbreaking achievement.
The NSC, while assuring GAA of their unflinching commitment to supporting them and Gambian athletes, they (NSC) urged GAA to maintain the momentum and remain good ambassadors of The Gambia at all times.
