Tomorrow 15 August is coincidentally a public holiday in this country. It has been so since the colonial days. The importance of the day is viewed multi dimensionally and felt in all areas. It is an important day on the national calendar of the country and it is declared a public holiday. And on this date of the year, 15th August the Roman Catholic community in the length and breadth of the country observe the day by the demonstration publicly of their love for the Mother of Christ.
The death of Jay Saidy too took place on August 15, an event of great significance and remembered by all his relatives, friends and professional colleagues in many and diverse ways. And in this year, 2015, August, some friends will visit the home of a child born in May, about three months ago named after him. All that add to the greatness of 15 August. All these activities are in remembrance of that Janjanbureh erudite scholar the late Jay Saidy.
