Norwegian national arraigned for alleged forgery

Mr Ernest Olsen, a Norwegian national, was on 24 March 2014, arraigned before Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court and charged with forgery.

He denied the allegation.

According to the particulars of offence, Ernest Olsen, on 12 March 2014, at Bambo, Serrekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, was found or had in his possession 10 packets of blacken papers cut into US dollars-size, all meant for the purpose of forgery and thereby committed an offence.

The prosecuting officer, Sergeant 3560 Colley, objected to bail on the grounds that the accused was being investigated for pornographic activities.

He told the court that the accused had been requested for by Operation No Compromise.

He urged the court not to grant bail to the accused, pending the investigation.

Magistrate Tabally then remanded the accused in prison and adjourned the case till 7 April 2014, for hearing.
