According to the organisers, participation fees for professional players, amateurs and juniors are pegged at 20,000 FCFA. The winner in the professional category of the Open will receive a cash prize of 5,000,000 FCFA, it added, saying second position will receive 2.5 million FCFA, third 1.5 million FCFA and fourth place 1 million FCFA.
The winner of the Pro-Am in the professional category will receive 300,000 FCFA, second place will receive 200,000 FCFA, third place 100,000 FCFA and fourth place 50,000 FCFA.
Golf players who pass the cut are guaranteed a minimum of 50,000 FCFA.
The tournament is designed for 250 players including professionals and amateurs.
Departures will be in teams of three players every 10 minutes for professionals. For amateurs, departures will be given on each hole.
The golf tournament will take place on the following golf courses:Pointe des Almadies (9 holes), and Saly (18 holes) located 80km from Dakar.
Transportation for the professionals from Dakar to Saly will be provided by the Senegalese Federation of Golf (FSG).
All professionals will play two days in Saly – 26 and 27 May 2014 – for the cut. Only 45 qualified players who pass the cut will play Wednesday, 28 May at the Golf de la Pointe des Almadies.
A Pro-Am will be organised on Thursday, 29 May at the Golf Pointe des Almadies. Only 60 golfers including the first 20 professionals and 40 amateurs (first come, first served) will participate in the Pro-Am.
The amateurs will play only one round on the Golf de la Pointe des Almadies, on the following dates:May 30 (morning or afternoon), May 31(morning or afternoon) or June 1 (morning only).
The Senegalese Federation of Golf (FSG) will pay up to 50 per cent of the lodging for professionals in hotels selected by the FSG.
The Senegal Golf Open follows the rules approved by the Royal and Ancient Rules Limited, the US Golf Association and also the rules published by the Senegalese Federation of Golf.
The ranking will be in “net” points, out of the total of 18 holes for amateurs. For professionals, ranking will be calculated based on gross out of 54 holes.
For the title of Champion of the Open Senegal for professionals: in case of a tie, players will break the tie through a play off accumulated on hole #1 (par 4) and #9 (par 4) on the Meridien Golf course.If there is still a tie, players will replay hole # 9 until there is a winner.
In case of a tie for amateurs, the best return will be retained. If there is still a tie, the results obtained over the last 6 holes, the last 3 holes and the last hole will be considered to determine the winner.
The organizing committee of the FSG reminds players that shorts, tank top, T-shorts and other beachwear are forbidden during the training and the tournament.Only shorts, pants, skirt or panties skirt, polo shirts and shirts will be allowed on the golf courses and on the driving range.
The scorecards must be signed and validated in the presence of a Commissioner, and claims must be filed with a commissioner or with the commission arbitrage before the scorecards are signed.
During the tournament, referees and /or commissioners will be present on thegolf courses
Players will have to be accompanied by a caddy on all courses.The minimum prize of CFA3,000 for 18 holes has to be paid by the player.
Lodging:a list of hotels, residences with preferential rates will be sent in addition to the hotels selected for the professionals.
