The
Njundu Sonko-sponsored and Toubakolong Youth and Sports Committee organised
nawetan is expected to kick off on Sunday 13 August 2017.
Toubakolong
Bantaba will lock horns with Juffureh United in the opening game of the
competition at the Toubakolong football ground in Upper Niumi District, North
Bank Region.
The
12-village tournament is sponsored by the Toubakolong native based in Holland
to the tune of D25,000 with a giant trophy.
Group
A comprises Toubakolong Bantaba FC, Juffureh United and Niumi Lameng FC.
Group
B is made up of Albreda United, Bakalarr United and Penku FC.
Group
C will feature Sika United, Toubakolong United and Sittanunku United.
Lions
of Albreda FC, Aljamdu FC and Madina Sedia FC will battle it out in Group D.
Kemo
Ceesay, Chairman of Toubakolong Youths and Sports Committee said they will
first benefit from a 3-day coaching clinic to be conducted by regional coach
Baboucarr Boris Demba prior to the commencement of the tournament (from Friday
11 to 13 August 2017).
Participants
will be certified after the clinic, he added.
The
Toubakolong Youth and Sports Committee is affiliated to Essau Sports Committee
with honour given to them.
Yankuba
Marong and his team are charged with taking care of activities of the
competition with members of the Essau Sports Committee expected to grace the
opening game of the tournament.
