Network
of Financial and Tax Reporters (NFTR) Gambia chapter; a new association that
was created to promote, educate, and sensitise Gambians on the essence of voluntary
tax compliance, will host its 3rd engagement forum with stakeholders, including Tax Authority
and the media.
The
forum, coming on 2nd November, will bring all actors from The Gambia Bankers
Association, the private sector, taxpayers, Gambia Revenue Authority, UTG
students and the media to discuss the importance of tax payment.
President of the Network, Abdoulie Nyockeh
said the forum targets twenty financial and tax reporters, ten business
community, five tax authority officials, five financial institutions, five
representatives from the private sector and five from the government
representative.
He
said one of their objectives is to ensure that there is transparency and
accountability in tax payment.
