The newly-appointed Chief of Upper Nuimi District in the North Bank Region, Modou Charty Cham, was on Saturday installed at a colourful ceremony held in his home village.
Speaking at the event, the new chief took pledged to serve the people of the area in their best interest, and to live up to expectations.

The North Bank Region governor, Lamin Queen Jammeh, administered the oaths for the new chief.
Governor Jammeh expressed hope and confidence that the new chief would serve his people well, stating that he has all the qualities it takes to do so.
