Nasir
Senior Secondary School has kicked Saint Augustine’s Secondary School out of
the 2016 Guaranty Trust Bank-sponsored Principals Cup inter-schools football
competition played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The
Banjul has widely been tipped by many football admirers in the country as the
favourite to clinch the championship title but lost to Basse School in their
final group game.
The
victory has secured Nasir a place in the semifinal whilst mighty Saint
Augustine’s are out, and will now hang their boots until next year.
Tujereng
Senior Secondary School thumped Bureng Senior Secondary School 2-0 to join
Nasir in the semifinal.
Kanifing
East Senior Secondary School pounded Brusubi Senior Secondary School on the
same score-line to progress to the semifinal.
Elsewhere,
Amittage Senior Secondary School drew 1-1 with Farafenni Senior Secondary
School.
The
semifinal matches are set for today, Friday 1 June 2016. In the male category,
Tujereng Senior Secondary School will clash with Amittage Senior Secondary
School in the semifinal at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Elsewhere,
Nasir Senior Secondary School will rub shoulders with Kanifing East Senior
Secondary School in the other semifinal at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Meanwhile,
in the female category, semifinal games are also set for today. Muslim Senior
Secondary School will brawl with Daddy Jobe Senior Secondary School.
Elsewhere,
Bottrop Senior Secondary School will play against Ming Ndow Senior Secondary
School in the other semifinal.
