The trial of Musa Suso yesterday failed to proceed before Principal Magistrate Kayode at the Banjul Magistrates' Court.
The case which was scheduled for cross-examination of a prosecution witness, could not proceed owing to the absence of the defence counsel.
The accused Musa Suso while in the dock informed the court that he had not heard from his counsel. The prosecuting officer, Superintendent Tijan Badjie, told the court that he had his witness in court. He added that since the case cannot proceed with the absence of the defence counsel, he would therefore apply for the case to be adjourned. He informed the court that he tried to get in touch with the defence counsel, but unfortunately he could not.
The case was adjourned to today, Friday 3rd July.
It could be recalled that the accused Musa Suso is standing trial at the Banjul Magistrates' Court on charges of giving false information to a public officer.
