The Annual Mission Football Tournament is set to commence on Thursday 22 August 2013, at Gunjur’s biggest and popular football arena, Gunjur Nyamina Field.
Four teams, namely the host Gunjur, Sanyang, Kartong and Sifoe, will be vying for this year’s mission football tournament title and balloting for the tournament will be held on the opening day of the tournament at the Gunjur Nyamina football field.
In previous years the Annual Mission Football Tournament attracted hundreds of spectators and always produced fascinating and astonishing football from the participating teams, and coaches also used the mission tournament to scout out good players for their teams.
The tournament will run from 22 to 25 August 2013, and two games will be played every day at 3pm and 5pm.
The aim of the tournament is to foster unity and understanding among Christians.
