Milan FC collected a hard-fought 9-8 win over bitter rivals Jazz in Thursday's play-off encounter after a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Musa Dem put Jazz back into the game when he drilled home a superb finish from the left corner to cancel Ebrima Kujabi's opener a few minutes from time as Coach Badou Conateh, alias Koto and his Milan side continued to show their impressive qualifying round performances, which earned them a place in the upcoming Nawettan, due to kick-off on Tuesday 25th August 2009.

Both teams went into this crucial stage of the qualifiers with high hopes and played a scintillating moment of fantastic football. But an action packed 90 minutes was not good enough to separate the two bitter rivals resulting in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

The hero of the day was no other than Milan goalkeeper, who took everyone by surprise with a world class save as his fans celebrated an emphatic 9-8 win to end Jazz hope of making another appearance in Bakau Nawettan.

The last day of the Ten (10) team qualifiers also witnessed in what could be called a mouth-watering encounter when rejuvenated Njogu Demba thumped African Magic, popularly called Young Biko by 3-goals to 2 in a rough and entertaining game.

The Young Biko side that paid the prize for failing to take advantage of two red-cards conceded by Njogu Demba will not be taking part in the Nawettan this summer as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat, which put an end to their chance of making their first Nawettan debut.

In a separate but related development, the Super Cup Final between the last year's league cup winners and the knock-out champions Linguere FC and Ron-Mango, respectively, has been rescheduled to Friday 21st August 2009.

The final which will eventually pave the way for the much anticipated summer championship at the Bakau Mini Stadium.
