Man in court for threatening violence

A man was recently arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Tabally for allegedly threatening violence.

Mustapha Njie pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was subsequently granted bail in the sum of D50,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit a national ID card.

According to the charge sheet, on 19th October 2010 at Serekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused person, Mustapha Njie, threatened to kill one Kaddijatou Mendy with a broken bottle.

The case was adjourned to 9th December 2010.
