Ousman Bahoum, a resident of Mandinary village, recently testified in the theft case involving one Gibril Jammeh at the Brikama Magistrates' Court.

Bahoum, the prosecution fifth witness, told the court that he works at the Mandinary River Lodge, as a storekeeper, run by one Mike Gould of the United Kingdom.

He said he recognised the accused as a manager of the said Mandinary River Lodge, and could recall what happened on 19th May 2010.

"On the day in question, I reported to work at the Mandinary River Lodge, when I met the accused and the watchmen standing at the door of the store that was opened," PW5 told the court.

"I asked the accused what happened, and he told me a thief had stolen five solar panels, and some shoes," he added. He said they followed the foot-marks, and behind the store they found the empty carton of shoes, and the matter was later reported to police station.

Jammeh further testified that there was sign of a break-in at the store, and the padlock was not seen, adding that the padlock had three keys, and the accused person was in charge of all the keys.

The case was adjourned to 15th December 2010.
