Man 40 Charged with Common Assault

One Alagie Jallow, a 40 year old man was on Thursday 19th 2009 arraigned before His Worship Abdoulie Mbake charged with common assault contrary to section 227 of the criminal code, Cap 10 Vol III, Laws of The Gambia.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused in the language he claims to understand, he pleaded not guilty.

According to the particulars of the alleged offence, Alagie Jallow on or about the 27th February 2009 at or around 7.30 at Serekunda assaulted Ousman Saidykhan by slapping him on his face thereby causing him severe pain.

Meanwhile, the accused was granted bail in the sum of three hundred Dalasi (D300) or the provision of one Gambian surety.
