One Alieu Jallow was recently arraigned before Magistrate Alagba of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing and wilful damage to property.
Jallow denied the charge, and was granted court bail of D200,000 with two Gambian sureties with ID cards.
The particulars of offence on count one read that on 11 September 2011, at Bakau in the Kanifing Municipality, he stole from the house of one Muhammed Lamin Komma the following items: DVD player valued at D2,500, Mobile phone double Sims valued at D2,000, cash amounting to D4,750, and five DVD cassettes valued at D500, being the property of the said Muhammed Lamin Komma.
On count two Jallow was accused of damaging the left door windscreen of a motor vehicle with registration number Judiciary 20, valued at D5,000 which is the property of the Gambia Judiciary, and thereby committed an offence.
The case continues on 26th September 2011.
