A man accused of being in possession of cannabis sativa was recently arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Tabally.
Ebou Njie denied the charge, and was granted court bail of D300,000 with two Gambian sureties, who must deposit their title deeds with the court.
According to the particulars of offence, on 6th June 2011 at the Banjul Ferry Terminal, the accused person, Ebou Njie, was alleged to have been found in possession of 1kg and 220mg of suspected cannabis sativa.
In a related development, one Berama Jeng was also recently arraigned before the Banjul Magistrates’ Court for possession of prohibited drugs.
According to the charge sheet, on 14 July 2011 at the Banjul Ferry Terminal, the accused, Berama Jeng, was found in possession of 840kg of suspected cannabis sativa.
Jeng also denied the charge, and was granted court bail of D300,000 with two Gambian sureties.
