Man convicted for stealing from Brikama NAWEC office

One Yusupha Bojang was Thursday convicted and sentenced to a fine of D5,000 in default to serve one year in prison by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Jagne.

Yusupha Bojang, who later admitted to the offence charged, after the trial had commenced, was convicted for stealing a ladder from the Brikama NAWEC office.

According to the particulars of offence, the convict, Yusupha Bojang, on 28 October 2013, at Brikama, stole one ladder valued at D5,800 from Brikama NAWEC office.

The facts of the case read that it happened on 28 October 2013, at Brikama NAWEC campus. While the accused was going to work at Brikama Jalanbang, he saw a ladder placed inside the office.

He entered and went away with it to his workplace.

When he was returning from work, he was intercepted by Chief Inspector Manneh of Brikama station, who took him to NAWEC office for them to identify the said ladder.

The NAWEC staff identified the ladder and the accused was taken to the Brikama Police Station, where he was questioned, and he confessed to taking the ladder.
