A man called Alhagie Bangura was Wednesday convicted and sentenced to a fine of D10,000 in default to serve four months in prison.
Alhagie Bangura, who admitted to the charge of injuring a cow, was also ordered to pay compensation of D30,000 to the owner.
Bangura was arraigned before Magistrate Foster of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with injuring a cow.
The particulars of offence stated that the accused, Alhagie Bangura, on 13 April 2013, at Kembujeh, in Kombo Central, West Coast Region, willfully maimed or wounded a cow valued at D25,000, by hitting the cow with a stick, being the property of one Joseph Mendy.
