A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Jallow of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with stealing from a dwelling house.
Alieu Jallow pleaded not guilty of the charge and was granted court bail of D75,000 with two Gambian sureties, who must deposit title deeds and swear to an affidavit of means with national ID each.
According to the particulars of offence, on 18 January 2011, at Malawi Guest House in Fajara, the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Alieu Jallow, stole the following: one refrigerator valued at D6,500, deep freezer valued at D12,000, four water heater valued at D18,000, one reserved water tank valued at D14,000, twelve small beds valued at D36,000, one dining table with chairs valued at D18,500, fourteen ceiling fans valued at D9,800, and four centre tables with twelve chairs valued at D16,000. The total value of items stolen is D130,800, being the property of one Alkali Kutubo Jakali Touray.
Hearing was adjourned till 13 June 2011.
