Lions
of Banjul are set to welcome the newly-promoted side Waa Banjul in the week-ten
fixtures of the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation second division tomorrow,
Saturday 28 January 2017, at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
Tomorrow’s
meeting will be the first-ever meeting between Lions of Banjul and Waa Banjul
in the country’s second tier since gaining promotion.
Lions
of Banjul are among the teams contending for promotion to the top flight next
season, and will be fighting to beat Waa Banjul to bounce back after losing to
league leaders Fortune FC 2-0 in their previous league fixtures to keep their
first division promotion hopes alive.
Waa
Banjul are mid-table in the second tier, and are expecting to recover against
Lions of Banjul in the all-Banjul derby fixtures to improve their position in
the league.
