Mar 10, 2020, 2:12 PM

At the brink of matches in GFF League Division Two, Latri Kunda United maintained their lead at the summit just at One Match Week remaining on 24 points confirming their consistency in the second tier. The final Match Day will be played on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th March 2020. However, there is a rescheduled Match for Gunjur and Sere Kunda East Bi to complete the Round.

New comers Falcons, Jarra West FC and, PSV Wellingara all had a taste of a concise top spot in the standings. Interestingly, Latrikunda United consistent results over the past few match days has earned them the narrow lead but closely followed by Immigration on second with 23 points. The Security outfit fought their way to the top contention from a previous bottom form and earned the top spot contention through their impressive performances and consistent results.

However, there is stiff competition for the top spot amongst the first six teams having four points or less making the margin to group leaders. PSV Wellingara (3rd) shares points with Falcons (4th) on 22 points, goals separating the two, and just a single point over B4U Kiang West (5th) and Bombada (6th) with 20 points.

Middle table occupants Red Hawks (7th) with 20 points, a point above Young Africans (8th) and Team Rhino (9th) who both share 19 points in the standings.

Samger FC (10th) and 2nd Infantry (11th) both share 18 Points, and Gunjur FC occupy (12th) with 17 points with a game in hand to Sere Kunda East Bi, all continue to fight over the relegation with a point or two making the differences.

There is significant transformations and variations with close margin of points and numerous identical results of draws and points can be observed in League Two showing intense rivalry amongst the teams that makes prediction difficult for pundits.

Jam City (13th) 16 points and Jarra West (14th) with 15 points struggles to get their way out of the Red zone.

Steve Biko (15th) and SK East Bi (16th) came out with eleven and ten points at the end of the round. Both teams continue to struggle after a poor run of form at the start of the season with the Giant Killers hoping to avoid the bottom spot in the second round of the league while SK East BI will look forward to focus and start afresh after their the club’s ownership status has been done and dusted.

Moreover, both Gunjur FC and SK East BI will be looking to make a difference in their match in hand owed to them as they played 13 matches out of fourteen.

With just one match day to go into the second round, Second Round Matches are expected to start on Wednesday 18th March 2020.
