Late Dembo FC on Saturday beat Gamcel FC 3-0 in the 2014-2015 Solid Properties Gunjur league finals game played at the Gunjur Nyamina football field to end their 12 year trophy drought in the Gunjur nawettan.
The Santos-based outfit made an astonishing start to the game, and opened the scores through captain Bakary B. Touray alias Gerrard in the 6th minute of the game from the penalty spot, after Sanna Barrow handled the ball inside the area to give his side the lead.
Wander-kid Muhammed Janneh netted the second and third goal for Late Dembo FC in the 20th and 35th minutes of the game, to earned Late Dembo FC their first-ever league title.
Gamcel responded for an equalizer, but no avail and the game ended 3-0.
As the champions, Late Dembo FC walked away with a giant trophy and cash prized of D15, 000; Gamcel FC received D10,000 as runners-up.
Kajabang received D500 as the most disciplined team, a prize sponsored by GYCOAD.
