The Gambia Football Federation, GFF, yesterday donated items to Kanifing Municipality Football Association to improve football pitches in the municipality, as part of the GFF’s effort to promote and develop football in the country.
The beneficiaries are Serrekunda East, West and Manjai and the items are meant to improve the standard and quality of their football pitches.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium, the Secretary General GFF, Abass Bah, said the football federation was delighted to support the zones with materials in order to improve their grounds.
The president of Kanifing Municipality Football Association, Bakary Paco Dampha, hailed GFF for the support rendered to the three zones in order to improve their grounds.
Dampha assured the GFF that the donated items would be put into good use.
The public relations officer Serrekunda West Sports Organisation, Bai Ndong Drammeh, applauded GFF for the timely support, adding that the donated items would aid the zones to improve their pitches.
Drammeh appealed to GFF to help Serrekunda West zone with pumping machines in order get easy access to water to improve the pitch.
The contractor, Muhammed B. Jallow from MJ Spares and Works, assured GFF that the work would be done properly and would be finished on time.
