Lash Rush FC on Sunday emerged winners of the Kanifing Estate Nawetaan after beating Star FC by 1-0, at the Charles Fowlis Senior Secondary School field.
The game was opened with impressive display of skills by both teams and in the 24th minute of play, Tairo Kujabi scored the only goal of the match with a powerful strike that saw the ball straight into the net.
The winners went home with a trophy and a cash prize of D3, 500 while runners up Star FC went home with D1, 500.
In the same vein at Kudang, Green Impact FC beat Gamcel FC by 5-4 on penalty shootouts to be crowned champions of this year’s Kudang Youth Football Tournament, after a goalless draw in regular time in the final played at the Kudang field on Saturday.
Green Impact FC went home with a cash prize of D5, 000 while Gamcel FC collected a consolation prize of D3, 000.
Armed Forces FC were named the most disciplined team of the tournament while the best player title of the tournament went to Lamin Koyta.
