The super cup final will pave the way for the nawettan proper which will get underway fromthe 17th of August, making them the first Gambia Football Federation recognised nawettan centre to kick start their summer football jamboree.
The Annual General Meeting according to Momodou Faal, the chairman of the Committee, will be held at the Babilon Nursery School in the suburbs of Lamin.
He explained that the AGM seeks to inform the stakeholders the development projects undertaken and completed by the Committee during the past year, as well as to outline the action plan for the coming year, and to give chance for the 20 team representatives to bring forward their concerns about the Committee.
Faal disclosed that it is a constitutional mandate for the Committee to hold an AGM, noting that the Committee’s open door policy has gone a long way in addressing some of the bottlenecks between the sport administrators and the stakeholders.
Faal also stressed the need for team representatives to always consult them in clarifying issues. He added: “The development of Lamin sports doesn’t lie in the hands of the Committee alone, although the Committee is tasked with the responsibility and they are fulfilling those responsibilities to make sure that what is expected of us is done.”
He therefore urged the stakeholders to give their maximum support to the Committee to enable them improve on last year’s achievements.
The chairman finally assured that the Committee will apply the rules governing nawettan and the constitution to the letter. Source Daily Observer
