Lamin resident arraigned

One Mariama Badjie, a resident of Lamin village was recently arraigned before Magistrate Emmanuel Amadi of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with criminal trespass and common assault.

According to the charge sheet on count one, on 19th December 2009, at Lamin village, Western Region, she unlawfully entered into the house of one Isatou Saidy with intent to intimidate and annoy her.

Count two stated that, on the same day, month and year, the accused, Mariama Badjie assaulted the said Isatou Saidy by holding her neck and her hairs, and as a result fell her down.

Meanwhile, the accused who pleaded not guilty was granted a court bail in the sum of D5000 with a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to 9th January 2010.
