Lady convicted for assault

One Isatou Jawla, a resident of Sukuta Village in Kombo North, Western Region, was recently convicted and sentenced to pay a fine of D1, 200, in default to serve four months in prison by the Bundung Magistrates' Court.

In delivery judgement, Magistrate Lamin Geoge stated that the prosecutor's case was that the convict, Isatou Jawla, assaulted one Mariama, the charge she denied.

He said that the prosecutor witnesses evidence were so strong and supportive, and were never challenged by the convict. He added that the prosecution has proven their case beyond all reasonable doubt and link the convict to the charge.
