CRR Fire Victims Receive SK Jaiteh Boost

Following a disastrous fire outbreak in the village of Jamali Babou in SamiDistrict of the Central River Region which ravages more than 30 compounds, Salifu K. Jaiteh, a renown businessman yesterday donated 14 bails of second hand cloths to the victims.

The donated items, worth D56, 000 was handed over to the Deputy Governor of the Region, Mr Lamin Darboe at a ceremony held at the Albert market in Banjul.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Salifu K. Jaiteh expressed his resolve to always help the needy. He said he was saddened by the news and as a result, he offered to help the victims by donating second hand clothes to them. "Though very small, I believe the donated items will be useful to the people of the area. My company is always ready to help the needy when situations like this arise", he said, while urging them to put the items into good use.

For his part, Deputy Governor Lamin Darboe on behalf of the government and the fire victims commended Mr Jaiteh for what he described as a timely and humanitarian gesture.

The donation, he said will greatly help in rehabilitating the victims thus lessen the impact of the disaster. "This gesture is yet another manifestation of your true patriotism and concern for the plight of the vulnerable", the Deputy Governor said.
