Kids with Talents Radio Station (KWT) celebrated what appeared to be their first championship title with a dramatic 6-5 penalty shootout win at the expense of Unique FM at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Saturday.

A rather interesting final saw Coach Ebrima Ceesay and his charges open the scoring mid way through the first period courtesy of a fine finish by Bakary Sanyang who converted from a penalty spot.

The KWT team under the captaincy of aggressive centre back Ebrima Campo Jatta had their title ambition dented when Sanna Conteh fired home from a rebound to bring Amadou Wuyeh Manga's Unique FM back into the game in the second period.

A 1-1 draw in the regulation period was followed by a dramatic penalty shootout where KWT emerged a 6-5 winner thanks to captain Ebrima Campo Jatta's winning goal from a penalty spot.

The champions were rewarded for their outstanding display as they walked away with a trophy.

Red Scorpions co-organizers, earlier in the day, enjoyed an emphatic 2-nil win over Jam City in the final of the female category thanks to goals from Awa Tamba and Amie Bojang in the 10th and 39th minutes of an action-packed encounter.

They went home with a trophy to the delight of the team's head coach Choro Mbenga, who dedicated the title to the family of the late Fatou Mbye.

"We participated in this tournament in order to remember our fallen colleague and sister, Fatou Mbye, and it is a great honour for all of us, particularly me," Mbenga said, adding that she was not surprise to see her team win the title.

The organising committee of the football tournament would like to thank their partners such as Serrekunda East and West as well as Manjai Sports Committees for their valuable contribution in the success of the tournament.

The organizing committee further commended the Gambia Press Union for sponsoring the tournament at a tune of D7,000.
