Kombo South District Sports
Committee (KSDSC) on 23September 2012 held a meeting with villages ahead of the
Kombo South district football tournament at the Gunjur Upper Basic School.
According to KSDSC, the tournament will commence in the first week of November 2012. The committee added that the registration fee for the competition is D3,500.
The deadline for registration is 21 October 2012, to be followed by balloting of teams for the tournament’s fixtures.
KSDSC has said the Gambia Football Association division one players are not eligible to participate in the competition. The tournament is meant to promote and nurture young talented players in the district.
Gunjur, Jambanjelly and Tujereng football fields will host the games during the course of the tournament and the winner will receive D20,000, while the runners-up D10,000.
