The draw for the 2013-2014 Kombo South District Sports Committee (KSDSC) staged in the name of the late Kajali Badjie and late Ismaila Nyassi, was held in Jambanjelly village recently.
Eleven villages, namely Kartong, Tujereng, Tanji, Mamuda, Batokunku, Berending, Jambur, Banyaka, Gunjur Kunkujang, Nyofelleh and reigning champions Sifoe, will be contesting in the championship title.
The
villages are grouped into three categories and the draw for the championship is
as follows:
Group A consists of Gunjur Kunkujang, Berending, Kartong and
Batokunku.
Group B comprises Mamuda, Tujereng, Tanji and Nyofelleh.
Reigning champions Sifoe, Banyaka and Jambur make up Group C.
Jambur will clash with last year’s tournament semi-finalists Banyaka in the opening game of the 2013-2014 late Kajali Badjie and the late Ismaila Nyassi Kombo South district football tournament set for Saturday 15 March 2014, at Tujereng Football Field.
Kombo South District Sports Committee (KSDSC), which has promised free and fair district football tournament, has urged participating villages to maintain discipline during the tournament in order to avoid fines and suspensions.
According to the KSDSC, Tujereng and Sifoe Football fields will be hosting the 2013-2014 district tournament games.
The 2013-2014 tournament is organized in memory of two former players, both natives of Jambanjelly village. The two played for Jambanjelly town team before their demise.
