The Yuspalkala and Family Art Exhibition started on Thursday 8 November at the Alliance Franco, and is expected to end on 30th November, 2012.
The event was sponsored by Banjul Breweries to help showcase the artist’s talent and vision of the world through his painting.
This will also be followed with a cocktail reception on 14th November at the same venue.
African contemporary artist Yuspalkala is a painter and sculptor of African subjects. Well-known in West Africa, he was born in mainland Lagos State in Nigeria in October 1969.
The artist is said to have successfully exhibited on several occasions at various events in West Africa.
He specialized in oil and acrylic painting on canvas, molding with fiber glass, particularly on African entertainment with a lot of art movements such as cubism, futurism, Dadaism, realism, surrealism, expressionism, impressionism and minimalism.
Forty African vivid contemporary paintings by Yuspalkala Family concept are prepared for sale, and all are on rich colours, based on African culture.
“Painting gave me satisfaction of achievement, of being able to do something extremely difficult and well”, he explained.
He thanked the Gambian leader and his government for providing a conducive environment.
