KMC Present Cheque for D30,000 To GFA

The Kanifing Muncipal Council, KMC, last Tuesday donated a cheque of D30,000 to the Gambia Football Association, the GFA, as part of their contribution for the return legs in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

 In his handing over remarks, the Deputy Mayor of the KMC, Mr. Yusupha Sanyang, asserted that the gesture is part of their contribution towards the development of the sport in this country.  He pointed out that the money given to the GFA will be spent for the returned leg in Mauritania. He said football is now more than entertainment, it is pure business, he therefore urged the GFA to make good use of the money that has been donated to them.

 Also speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Kemo Ceesay, Treasurer of the GFA, has asserted that the GFA has lot of work do in terms of football development in this country.  He said that the GFA cannot do it alone.  Since they made this request KMC was the first to respond to the call for help. "We are therefore saying thank you to the management and the staff of the council for the timely gesture".

The presentation was graced by the Public Relations Officer of the Kanifing Municipal Council, Mr. Pa Kalifa Sanyang, who expressed similar sentiment and also staff of GFA.
