The President of the Brikama Youths and Sports Association, Lamin King Colley has commended one of the leading GSM operators in the country, Africell, for investing heavily in Gambian football. He described the company's efforts as second only to President Jammeh's massive gestures to the national teams.

King said, " if Gambians and other companies should give a similar gesture to the FA, all categories of The Gambia's national teams will surely make it to the World and African Cup championships. Because there will be enough motivation for the teams."

"Africell is contributing towards the development of grassroots football. You can even see that they are officially sponsoring a test match for the Gambia U-20 team this weekend. We cannot count our success in football without mentioning them," he pointed out.

He commended the Department of State for Youths and Sports for their partnership with the GFA.

Commenting on the Scorpions performance, he said the team has done a good job but needs to improve on the goal scoring. " I think we can make it. We only need to at least pick up a point against Algeria on Friday and win another game."
