KGH Sports Academy win Inter Academy jamboree tourney

KGH Sports Academy are the 2010 champions of the Football Gambia Inter Academy Competition following their 5-4 (1-1) victory over Jatta's Memorial Academy on penalties in Sunday's final.

As winners of the competition KGH Sports Academy went home with a trophy, corns and a football, while all the other teams that took part in the competition all received consolation prizes of corns and footballs.

Six academies KGH Sports Academy, Jatta's Memorial Academy, Late Antou Saidy Academy, Canarias Football Academy from Brufut, Jespa Football Academy from Brikama and Abuko Central Academy took part in the event.

The Head Coach of KGH Sports Academy, Belal Saidy, who spoke to this reporter shortly after the game, expressed delight at the victory after his side succeeded in winning all their matches.

He said his team was going to win the final, as according to him, the opponents Jatta's Memorial Academy are not new to them.

Emmanuel Gibba, the Head Coach of Jatta's Memorial Academy commended the organisers for their contribution towards the promotion of sports in the country.

"I did not feel bad loosing to KGH Sports Academy, I will just prepare to do well next year," according to Head Coach Gibba.
