Ian Stapleton, founder of Football Gambia speaks

Ian Stapleton, the founder of Football Gambia expressed delight in the way and manner they have concluded the recently ended Inter-Academy Competition, staged by KGH Sports Academy.

Football Gambia is a UK-based charitable that's organised to promote Gambian football.

Over the years Football Gambia have been working with KGH Sports Academy in Lamin village and have also been supporting the Academy with football materials.

He reiterated his organisation's readiness in working together with KGH Sports Academy and the Gambia Football Association in the near future to promote football.

The Football Gambia, who are on a 9-day visit to the country last Friday 29th January 2010 met the Treasurer of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) to discuss on how to lobby sponsors to the Gambia Football Association (GFA) league.

On Saturday, the association was also engaged in the national clean-up exercise, together with KGH Sports Academy.

Bakary Bojang, the President of KGH Sports Academy stated that the aim of organising the competition was to unite youths as the future leaders of the country.

According to him, plans were at an advanced stage to organise the competition every year, and if possible every six (6) months.

"We intend to organise the Jamboree in May and increase the number of teams," Bojang stated.
