The Kerr Mama sports committee 13th football Nawetaan finals will take place on Sunday 10 February 2013 to be played between Bakalarr FC and Pakau Saloum FC at the Alh Gabbi Sosseh Mini Stadium in Kerr Mama at 4 pm.
The two teams are said to be the best teams in the tournament. This was demonstrated by the fact that both teams remain unbeaten in all the matches they have played in the tournament.
There is less to choose between the two contenders and the crowd will be expecting a close encounter.
The 13th Kerr Mama tournament is once again played in the name of Alh Badou Jasseh who before his demise was the chairman of Gambia Football Referees’ Committee.
The objective is to keep the legacy of Alh Badou Jasseh and bring into focus his immense contribution to Gambian Football.
The tournament is sponsored by Baboucarr Jallow, who is a native of Kerr Mam based in the United States.
Baboucarr, who is currently a referee in the topflight league of American Soccer, was recruited by Alh Badou Jasseh and he became a FIFA referee before travelling to the United States.
Alh Badou’s contribution to his career success was among the key motivators in naming the tournament after the legendary Gambian referee.
The final is expected to be graced by the Secretary General and Hon. Minister for Presidential Affairs Dr Njogu L. Bah, the Hon. Minister for Youths and Sports Alieu K. Jammeh.
The Governor of North Bank Region, Chief and National Assembly member for Upper Nuimi District, Executive Secretary National Sports Council Mamudou Max Jallow, the Director of Youths and Sports Pa S. Faye and a host of other dignitaries.
The match will be commented on live on the GRTS Radio.
The winner of the finals will go home with a giant Trophy and a sum of D10, 000 and the runners-up will go home with a cash prize of D7,000.
Other prizes will also be awarded on the day of the finals.
