Kartong to duel with Banyaka in KSD tourney opener

Kartong are set to clash with Banyaka in the 2017 Kombo South district football tournament opening game on Saturday 17 April 2017, at the Sanyang Football Field at 4.30pm.

Kartong clinched the last Kombo South district football tournament title for the first time in their history after beating Tanji 1-0 in the final game played at the Sanyang Football Field after losing to Farato in the 2008 Kombo South district football tournament.

Midfielder Ernest Gibba scored the only goal for Folonko boys in the game to claim their first-ever Kombo South district football tournament crown.

Kartong will aim to beat Banyaka to snatch the vital three points to boost their chances of reaching the quarterfinal.

Banyaka, on the other hand, will contest for revenge to clinch the vital three points after losing to Kartong in the 2015 Kombo South district football tournament semifinal to fancy their hopes of reaching the quarterfinal.
