A driver, Omar Jeng, was recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with careless driving.
According to the facts of the case as narrated by the prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector Touray, it happened on 27 August 2011, when the accused was driving a motor vehicle with registration number KM 1561B coming from Banjulinding towards Lamin Village.
He said that at the time, there was another vehicle in front of the accused’s vehicle with registration number BJL1509E heading to the same direction. He added that as they reached at a junction near St Peter’s School, the vehicle in front signaled to turn.
Still narrating, he said the accused’s vehicle knocked the rear of the vehicle in front, causing damages. The police were informed about the accident and all necessary actions were taken, he added.
He further narrated that both vehicles were tested and the drivers were served with warning letters.
The warning letters and testing certificates were admitted and tendered as exhibits.
