Sanchaba United gym and wrestling club is staging its first wrestling competition this Sunday.
Fighters are being invited to compete in the Gambian mbapat style (no fist strikes) from 4:30pm.
Competitors should arrive from 2:00pm for registration and weigh-in. The bouts will take place in the Sanchaba United gym compound.
There will be junior category (65kg – 75kg) and a senior category (75kg – 85kg) with cash prizes for the winners.
The entrance fee is D25 for adult spectators and D10 for children.
The competition will be a great opportunity to watch some local wrestling ahead of the national championships taking place on the weekend of June 29 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
