Kartong on Sunday defeated debutants Pacholing 4-0 at the Kartong football field to snatch their first victory in the 2015 Kombo South district biggest football fiesta.
Folonko boys made a dawdling start to the Kombo South district biggest football carnival following their 1-1 draw with Kombo South district football tournament champions Sifoe in their opening group B tie played at the Kartong football field last month, before their goalless draw with neighbours Berending at the Berending football field.
Debutants Pacholing, on the other hand, also made a sluggish start to the Kombo South district football tournament after their 1-1 draw with champions Sifoe in their first game played at the Sifoe football field, before their goalless draw with Berending in their second game played at the Sanyang football field.
The Folonko boys made an astonishing start to the game and made some occasional goal-scoring attempts.
They opened the scores through Ernest Gibba, before winger wizard Magina Jatta netted the second and third goals to complete his brace.
Buba Jarju sealed the victory to earn Kartong their first win in Kombo South district biggest football fray following their 1-1 draw with champions Sifoe in their opening group game before their goalless draw with neigbours Berending in their second group tie.
The defeat was Pacholing’s first defeat in Kombo South district football tournament. They are hoping to recover in their upcoming fixtures in order to fancy their hopes of qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Elsewhere, Bakunku were held to a goalless draw by Nyofelleh at the Batokunku football field on Saturday.
